Blue metal dust (also known as cracker dust or crusher dust) is a fine, angular aggregate byproduct crushed from hard granite or basalt rock. Ranging in particle size from a tiny 3mm down to a microscopic powder, its sharp, interlocking edges allow it to compact incredibly tightly when watered and rolled.
Unlike standard beach or river sands, blue metal dust sets into a rock-hard, semi-impermeable crust that resists shifting, making it an exceptional, cost-effective foundation material for heavy-traffic outdoor surfaces.
