Description
Road base is a dense, high-strength blend of crushed stone, gravel, sand, and fine dust particles (fines) engineered specifically to form an unyielding, load-bearing foundation.
Because its varying particle sizes—typically up to 19mm or 20mm down to a fine dust—allow it to lock together mechanically when watered and compressed, it creates a rock-hard structural crust. This prevents surface finishes from sinking, cracking, or rutting over time in Western Australia’s loose, sandy soils.
